A delight plus lots of information This is a very small community run venture which is well worth supporting. The museum is small but well displayed and informative. There are also exhibitions in an adjoining room as well as a little shop and quite an extensive tourist info room.

A bit out of the way but well worth finding This loveley little museum with a gift shop is also the local information hub. It's only 300 yards from the town centre but needs signs as if you don't stumble across it you would not know it existed.

Friendly and enjoyable Small but very informative museum giving an insight into bygone days and the history of the Rhayader village and area. Interactive displays and a change to do brass small rubbings which us three 60 somethings found great fun! Lovely staff all of which took time to chat and answer our questions.

A small but very interesting museum We were visiting the town so after noticing the signs pointing to the museum we visited. It is a little walk down the main street but worth it. Friendly staff at large reception area .It is housed in a nice modern building and most of the informative local history can be viewed on displays and push button DVD information in the gallery upstairs .There is an exhibition of textiles below in a large room

Well run, attractive, and fascinating I spent much longer in here than I anticipated - the talking tapes were addictive and I liked the way all aspects of local life were illustrated. When I was there (June 2016) there was also a great exhibition of textiles on the ground floor. Lovely staff too.

Very imformative As they say a little can go a long way. This is so true of this museum. It might seem a little room with just some things on the wall, but when you read all the information, you come out with so much knowledge about the history, the people and the cost of what these dams stand for and why they were built, so interesting, just take the time and it will be worth the effete
