The Rhayader Dragon Festival roars back into town!

On Saturday 25 October 2025, the Rhayader Dragon Festival, coordinated by local community arts organisation CARAD, roars back into town and promises to bring with it a week of fun things for the whole family to do, see, eat and drink!

Creative Workshops, Ages 8-13

These workshops are designed to help 8-13 year olds explore their identity and creativity. Each is an opportunity to learn something new about themselves, share their voice and explore ways to leave a mark on their world.

Halloween Dragon Quest - Elan Valley Visitors' Centre

From Monday 27th October, Tune in at the Elan Valley Visitors' Centre where you and the whole family can take yourselves off on a special Halloween Dragon Trail! Find the five hidden pumpkins scattered along the woods and around the Visitors' Centre, to unlock a secret code and win a prize!

Dragon Festival

A week-long community event themed around Dragons running over Half Term, 25th October – 1st November, coinciding with the Welsh Museums Festival.

This local festival, that has twice won Best Wales Festival with its mix of music and entertainment, will be taking place on 25 th -27 th July 2025.

Gardening Activity

CARAD will be creating a community garden surrounding its buildings on East Street and we're looking for volunteers to help us with gardening and carpentry.

Carnival

This popular event is one of the longest running carnivals in Wales, having recently celebrated 120 years. It runs for a week prior to Carnival Day, 19th July 2025.
