Dragon’s Roar

The Dragon of Rhayader is to be crowned Queen of the Shire and all the dragons of the land are lending their voices in honour.

Join in

Sound Art - We would like groups, organisations and schools across Wales to send us your Roar. This is a soundscape art project, but don’t worry you don’t need any special equipment, just a mobile phone or computer that can record voice. Ask each person to record their roar separately. It only needs to be a few seconds long. Try growling from your throat to get an authentic dragon sound.

Attach all the sound files to one email along with the name of your group and your town. We will edit the sounds together to create your roar and send you the sample which you can keep and be proud of, or even set as a ring tone! Samples from all over the country will be compiled into a soundscape which will become part of the crowning ceremony and can be heard at CARAD museum on Dragon Day in October 2017. Will you be able to recognise your roar? CARAD will send you a certificate for participating which you can frame and give pride of place in your office/reception area/classroom.
