TimeScape Rhayader launches this May

There’s been something magical happening behind closed doors in the mid Wales market town of Rhayader!

For more than two years a team of dedicated and highly skilled people have been burning the midnight oil, ready for the official opening of a brand-new visitor attraction on May 23rd - TimeScape Rhayader / Amserwedd Rhaeadr Gwy.

This new attraction has something for all ages. Included within lots of fascinating new installations is a wonderfully atmospheric Dragon’s Cave, also accessible through a crawl-through tunnel which features CARAD’s giant Copper Dragon sculpture, Queen Belrenin.

A host of other new installations explore the area’s fascinating stories from our community today as well as those who lived here before. We explore the unique landscapes, folklore and beliefs which shaped our communities, in a welcoming and fascinating all weather experience.

TimeScape Rhayader will be opened at an invited launch event on Thursday 23rd May, with Mayors of Rhayader, Birmingham and Builth Wells present, as well as the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Powys.

From Thursday 30th May, TimeScape Rhayader will be open to the public on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays 10.30am-4pm. Entry is £6 for adults, and a penny for children.

We rely on volunteers to open, so if you're coming from a distance please check with us to ensure we are open.
